Thames Tideway SCL
At Rorcon, we are proud to have been called upon to lend our expertise to FLO for the construction of SCL (Sprayed Concrete Lining) shafts and tunnels as part of the Thames Tideway Central project.
Our team was tasked with the challenging job of dropping the 47m-deep-shaft at the Albert Embankment and lining over 21m with sprayed concrete. We successfully constructed the lower sections of the shafts at Albert Embankment, Heathwall, Cremorne Wharf and Blackfriars Bridge Foreshore, and then moved on to drive connection tunnels ranging from 12m-145m in length and diameters between 3-4m ID.
However, thanks to the experience and quality of our team combined with the knowledge and leadership from FLOs senior management, the project was completed safely and efficiently
Our personnel were mobilised across critical stages of the programme, supporting consistent production while maintaining compliance with Tideway’s rigorous safety and quality controls. The works were delivered without disruption to surrounding infrastructure or adjacent developments.
Throughout the drives, both safety and production were impressive, with no LTAs or any significant incidents or injuries reported by the site's teams.
