Training
At Rorcon, we pride ourselves on the high level of expertise and knowledge that our employees bring to the table. To ensure that our staff is always up-to-date with the latest skills and practices, we provide rigorous training programs that are mandatory for all employees.
At Rorcon, we pride ourselves on the high level of expertise and knowledge that our employees bring to the table.
Before starting work with us, all employees are required to achieve one of The Tunnel safety training scheme (TSTS) or the City & Guilds 6151 Tunnel entry and emergency procedure qualifications. In some cases, both qualifications are necessary to ensure that our employees are fully equipped to handle any situation they may encounter on the job.
We strongly encourage our staff to share their knowledge with their colleagues regularly, so that a high level of knowledge and skill is maintained throughout our organization. Our employees are also encouraged to train in a range of skills, including those that are essential for their current job as well as those that permit individual self-development.
To support this continuous learning, we work with our training partner to provide our people with the opportunity to upskill and gain industry-wide recognition for their skillset.
Our goal is to get all workers onto a minimum NVQ Level 2 in their specific role, which not only increases their competencies but also helps them achieve industry-wide recognition for their skills.
At Rorcon, we are passionate about enhancing the skills and knowledge of individuals who will be integral for the future of our industry. That's why we advocate for apprenticeships, which provide young people with the right information and experience vital for their development. We are proud to have had two graduates from the very first Tunnelling Apprenticeship cohort, who have achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Tunnelling Operations. We plan to continue enrolling students on this qualification to help develop the future leaders of our industry.
