Crossrail Farringdon Station C345

Farringdon Station was a critical point in the Crossrail project, where the Eastbound and Westbound Running Tunnels intersected. The construction required a massive network of underground infrastructure, including numerous caverns and adits to accommodate the new Crossrail 'Elizabeth' line.

The project also involved enlargements to the running tunnels to form new station platforms. Rorcon was chosen by Bam Ferrovial Kier JV (BFK) to provide skilled and experienced personnel to assist with all of the tunnelling and underground works necessary to build the underground portion of the new station.

Rorcon’s personnel operated within Crossrail’s demanding quality and safety framework, contributing to the successful delivery of underground structures that now form part of one of London’s most significant transport upgrades.

This project reinforces Rorcon’s experience in complex underground station environments and our ability to support major transport infrastructure schemes.

Rorcon's team worked tirelessly to meet the challenging demands of the project, which included excavation and construction of underground structures to exacting standards, and the use of a range of specialist equipment.

Our teams supported excavation, temporary works and structural construction activities under tight tolerances and strict safety controls.
