Canley Brook Embankment Stabilisation — Sprayed Concrete (SCL) Works for PJ Hegarty
Rorcon supplied specialist SCL personnel, equipment, management and programming to support an embankment cutting at Canley Brook on behalf of PJ Hegarty. The works called for 312m² of sprayed concrete lining applied at 170mm thickness, over 53m³ of sprayed concrete, to stabilise the cutting and protect the programme. The project closed with zero incidents or accidents.
The Challenge
Embankment cuttings are unforgiving ground. Get the sequencing wrong and you're looking at slope failure, programme delay, or both. PJ Hegarty needed a specialist SCL contractor who could mobilise fast, run the works safely, and deliver the sprayed concrete lining to spec without issue.
That's the gap Rorcon fills. Twenty-five years of specialist tunnelling and civils labour supply on schemes including Crossrail, Thames Tideway, Silvertown Tunnel and HS2 means SCL works to an exposed embankment are well inside our comfort zone.
