Training

Rorcon’s employees are all qualified to the highest standard in their relevant field. All employees undergo specific Tunnelling qualifications before starting.  Achieving one of The Tunnel safety training scheme (TSTS) or the City & Guilds 6151 Tunnel entry and emergency procedure is a mandatory requirement before starting on site, and in some cases both qualifications are a requirement.

Our staff are urged to share knowledge with colleagues as frequently as necessary so that a high level of knowledge is sustained throughout our organisation. Rorcon staff are encouraged to train in a range of skills, both those essential for their current job and those which permit individual self-development.

Via our training partner, Rorcon has the capacity to train and upskill our people, aiming to get all workers onto a minimum NVQ Level 2 in their specific role. Not only does this increase the workforce are competencies, it gives the workforce industry wide recognition for their skillset.

Tunnelling Apprenticeships

We are advocates for Apprenticeships and enhancing the skills and knowledge of individuals, who will be integral for the future of our industry. Passing on the right information and experience is vital for the development of our people. Rorcon Limited have recently had two graduates from the very first Tunnelling Apprenticeship cohort.

Our Apprentices have achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Tunnelling Operations and we look to continue to enrol students on this qualification going forward.
