Pedestrian Underpass Ingatestone

Rorcon Limited provided J Murphy & Sons with all the specialist labour to excavate and install a pedestrian underpass at Ingatestone under live Great Eastern Main Line London to Chelmsford Railway. The box was 3.0m x 3.0m in section and 26m in length. It was cast in one piece and then excavated and installed below the railway. The underpass was successfully installed using “Box Jacking” techniques working 24/7 under a live railway, with no interruption to the service.
