We are currently working on some of the largest Civil Engineering projects in the UK:

Thames Tideway- the largest, longest, deepest continuous tunnel in Europe

Finishing works at Farringdon Station- part of the Crossrail project

Welsh Water Rainscape- part of the Welsh Water Flood Relief Scheme.

The Company were a key supplier to J Murphy & Sons on the successfully completed Willesden to Taylors Lane Deep Cable Tunnels for UK Power Networks

The Company has completed works for most of the UK’s major tunnelling contractors including Amec, BAM Nuttall, Costain, Morgan Sindall and J Murphy and Sons. International clients include Ferrovial and Bouygues and Lundin Gold.

Thames Tideway East

Rorcon supplied specialist Tunnelling labour for the East section of the prestigious Thames Tideway Project.

Winter 2020 -Ongoing

Kenilworth Sewer Outfall

Kenilworth – The team sank an 8m underpinned caisson shaft (pictured) and drove a 1.5m X 1.5m heading to connect to an existing sewer.

Thames Tideway- SCL Works

Construction of multiple shafts, culverts and connection drives, 3-4m ID using the Sprayed Concrete Lining tunnelling method (NATM).

“Essen Sammler Barchembach” – SMET Essen, Germany

Supply of specialist labour for the construction of a range of pipejacks over 1150m using  Herrenknecht AVND2000 TBM machines, and de-sanders.

 

Llanelli –  Welsh Water Rainscape

Construction of 1400LM of 1500mm diameter Flood Relief Sewer using Micro Tunnelling techniques.  Scheme included 8 no. segmental shafts sunk by caisson method plus an11M id Pumping Station.

2017 – Llanelli

Gold Mine in Ecuador – Futa Del Norte Project

Excavation of access adits for Futa Del Norte Gold Mine Project in Southeastern Ecuador.  Supervision and specialist labour engaged to construct 150M of 7M diameter SCL lined access tunnels.

Thames Tideway Central – Battersea

Rorcon are providing Specialist personnel for excavation of  both Westbound and Eastbound TBM machines, for Thames Tideway Central Project

London – Ongoing

Pedestrian Underpass Ingatestone

Provision of specialist tunnelling labour for Box Jack construction under the London- Chelmsford railway for a pedestrian underpass.

March 2013

Crossrail C435 Farringdon Station

Awarded Subcontract by BFK to provide specialist underground personnel for the construction of tunnels, adits, access passages for the new Crossrail Station at Farringdon.

December 2012

UK Power Networks Willesden to Taylors Lane

Construct 1.3km of 2.85m ID segmentally lined tunnel using Lovat TBM. Additional 125m of 2.44m ID tunnel excavated by back-hoe tunnel machine, negotiating radii of 40m. Construction of segmental and SCL shafts up to 6m diameter and 30m depth, plus SCL chambers.

Awarded Subcontract by BFK to provide specialist underground personnel for the construction of tunnels and adits at various location across the Western Running Tunnels

Provision of Specialist Tunnelling Labour for Major Underground Upgrade to station platforms and access routes

Construction of 10.67M I.D Segmental Shaft

Ross-on-Wye Flood Alleviation Scheme

Construction of 400LM of 2.1m TBM driven segmentally lined tunnel, plus access shafts sunk as caissons

Dockland Light Railway – Woolwich Arsenal Extension

Construction of Cross Passages, Ventilation Chamber and Adits for the DLR upgrade.

Holmesdale Tunnel – M25

Major Refurbishment and Upgrade of M25 Through Holmesdale Tunnel
